Philanthropy
In order to achieve the maximum number of points in this category the Chapter must host two philanthropic events per year
ZBT's adopted national philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network.
Get on the Ball, which was started by the Beta Zeta Epsilon Chapter at the University of Maryland, is the suggested event for Children's Miracle Network. This event has quickly become a signature event for our Chapters across the country.
Best Practices to excel
- Appoint a Philanthropy Chairman and committee to plan events.
- Before finalizing on a date, check on the University calendar to be sure it's not conflicting with any big events.
- Ask a Vice-President to oversee the progress made by the Philanthropy Chairman and committee.
- Plan something that will maximize dollars raised through opportunities for many types of participation (in other words---don't plan events that limit participation to only sororities.).
- Keep your publicity and advertising classy...philanthropy events benefit a cause.
- Issue a press release before and after the event to campus and community media such as newspapers and TV stations.
- Create a timeline leading up to the event to be sure you have ample time to plan the program.
- Create a sponsorship kit that can be used when soliciting sponsors well in advance of the event. Contact the National Office staff for information on how to create sponsorship kits.
- Take pictures of the event and of the check presentation (if applicable) to the charitable organization.
PLEASE INCLUDE NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS OR PICTURES FROM EVENTS YOU PLAN OR PARTICIPATE IN.
